Within the software you can set all your user information - name, company, email address, etc - Tools --> Options --> Your Information.
This information gets injected automatically into each sales opportunity that you create or edit - it makes you the "sales owner" - so it IS a very good idea to have the correct information in these fields.
BTW - your user name gets my vote for best user name on the site!
