YTD Wins and Losses report?
Question from a user: "I’m very happy with the software and have to again compliment you guys on the great work. One question – I know you can modify reports in CR, but I’m surprised there’s no standard report for “Wins and Losses Year to Date”. I see month and quarter to date, but not year. Why not put this on your “to do” list?"
Regarding the missing Wins and Losses report for Year to Date....there was a logic to not having one. The logic may be warped or questionable, but there is some comfort in that there was some thought. We felt that on a regular basis - like end-of-month or end-of-quarter - each sales rep should do some 'pipeline house cleaning' and cut/paste or archive completed deals into a YTD pipeline. Then run reports against the YTD pipeline for totals, etc. There are a couple of advantages to this approach. It keeps the pipeline with active prospects relatively clutter free and more manageable and portable. It also keeps a great history of every deal - win, lose, or draw - that you worked on during the year. The YTD pipeline becomes an excellent tool for doing territory reviews, rep reviews, etc. Just run reports against the YTD file, and then sit down with your rep or manager and start talking....
